We're making a live appearance on James Mawer's 'Stick Around For Joy' show on Phoenix 98FM on Wednesday 24th March at 8.00pm.

We'll be playing acoustically, having a chat and seeing what occurs. Join us in the chatroom at www.phoenixfm.com/chatroom.php.

We've also got a gig at the Barhouse in Chelmsford on 18th March, supporting the Library Suits, more details to follow when we know the full line up.

Had a great time at The Essex Arms last Saturday, good to see it full and bouncing about when we were on, and we hope to be back there, either with Suspect Wolves or Torus again in the New Year.

Other than that, we're looking forward to more recording, finishing the Tittletown EP shortly, Paul will hopefully get some time to knock up some artwork for it, and then we'll have it with us at gigs and for sale through here, and maybe on itunes too, you never know...

Gigs!

We've got two gigs coming up soon. Tuesday 17th November sees us at Edge in Romford for another Curveballs night with Nick Field of Phoenix FM fame. We're main support, so should be on stage around 10.00pm. It's just £3 on the door.

Then on Saturday 28th November we're back at The Essex Arms in Brentwood (just by the railway station), supporting Torus and Suspect Wolves. We're first on, around 8.00pm, and this one's £5 on the door.

Creative Sessions (and a new music player)

Hi!

We've uploaded the songs that we did for the Creative Sessions with Phoenix 98FM, and taken the opportunity to upgrade our music player too - hope you like it!

You'll find full versions of Flying, Frederick Smythe, My Hat Is Removed, Fallen and Pressure, all recorded at Seahorse Studios by the excellent Dave. It was a mammoth task for him, dealing with about 20 bands over three days, and then mixing what must have been around 80 songs, all at no cost to the bands - we can't thank him enough. :-)

"Where at man, where at?" we hear you cry, and you'll be happy to know we're currently deep in the mountains of Tibet, in a nice roomy cabin, with some mics, amps, drum kit and various other little treats, drinking lots of tea, and recording as many songs as we can.

So gigs have been a bit thin on the ground lately, but we'll be back out and about in the Autumn, new CD in tow. We'll keep you posted.

The Fleece - This Thursday!

If you haven't see it on our Gig Listings, or had a invite from our Facebook page (what do you mean, you're not a Facebook 'Fan'?), we're playing The Fleece in Chelmsford this Thursday 26th March.

It's a great pub, with a good atmosphere, and Shakey's organised it so it'll be a great night - make sure you're there too.

And as an aside, we played at The Bridgehouse 2 in Canning Town last Friday. We wondered what it was going to be like - it's on an industrial estate, in Canning Town - but it was one of the best venues we've ever played at. The sound was stunningly good, the light shows fantastic, no trouble, great staff, couldn't ask for more. Don't be put off by the location, get down there!

Two Brewers Gig Cancelled

Just a quick one to let you know the gig at The Two Brewers on Saturday 14th March has been cancelled, as Shakey is no longer working with them.

Their loss...

Shakey's now got a Thursday night slot at The Fleece in Chelmsford, and we'll be playing there in the near future, keep your eyes peeled!

Radio Play and more Gigs!

We're having some more radio play tonight, on 'More Than Just Radio.com' (which you can also find here www.mtjr.co.uk). Our song 'Pressure' will be played out by DJ Moonlight on her 'New Music, New Talent' show between 8.00pm and 9.00pm.

We've booked some more gigs, which are listed on our gigs page. New ones are one at The Essex Arms in Brentwood on Friday 27th February, and another at Shakey's at The Two Brewers in Chelmsford on Saturday 14th March.

Just a few bits...

I'm off out to get ready for the gig at Shakey's Bar soon, so just a quick one to say what's been going on with The Tibetan Tea Company recently...

Our gig at The Bitter End in Romford went very well, although the headline band had pulled out, so we ended up playing for one and a half hours, even though we'd only rehearsed 45 minutes. Good fun though, and hopefully we'll be back there soon.

It was our intention to do some recording after Christmas, but this hasn't happened yet, we've missed a few practices for one reason or another, but hopefully we can get on and 'lay down some tracks' fairly soon. We're still waiting to hear when the 'Creative Sessions' songs are going to be played out on Phoenix FM, we'll post it here as soon as we know.

Apart from the gig tonight, we've got another booked at Bridgehouse 2 in Canning Town on 20th March, when we're supporting Lasky. More details on our 'Gigs' page.

And hopefully we'll be playing as part of a Curveballs Night at The Bitter End in April, but we still need to confirm the details of that one. Again, we'll let you know!

Phoenix FM stuff and Gigs

Last wednesday we went on the Curveballs Show with Nick Field on Phoenix 98FM again, and had a great time, again! Thanks to Nick for having us back, and we eagerly await the next time...

We played 4 songs live in the studio:

Pressure
Foolish
Flying
Fallen

...and played out a couple of pre-recorded ones from the EP ('Spacegirl' and 'Such Is Life'). We also get to play out a song each from our favourite artists; I chose 'Coming Second' by Elbow, Paul went for 'The Passenger' by Iggy Pop, and Mike picked 'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Pelvis' by Barry Adamson and Jarvis Cocker.

Nick's hopefully going to get some of the live tracks up on the PhoenixFM website soon.

Saturday night saw us back over at The Black Bull in Chelmsford for another gig, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's a great pub venue, and one that deserves more visitors!

We've added a couple more gigs to the list, including The Bitter End in Romford on 6th December, and the Two Brewers on 6th February. It would be great to see you there. Become a fan on our Facebook page and you'll get invites and reminders and stuff. :-)

Phoenix 98FM Creative Session

Well, saturday afternoon saw The Tibetan Tea Company at Creative Studios for some recording for Phoenix 98FM's 'Creative Sessions', and I don't think it could have gone any better, with us ripping through 5 songs, which will be played out in the New Year on Phoenix FM.

The songs we recorded were:

Fallen
Frederick Smythe
My Hat Is Removed (Dave at Creative's favourite!)

We'd like to thank Paul and Steve at Phoenix FM for the opportunity to take part in these sessions, and Dave for such a problem free, and great sounding, recording session. We'd also like to add a big thank you to Nick Field who continues to play our songs pretty much every week on his Curveballs Show on Phoenix.

We'll let you know when they're going to be played out! :-)

Phoenix FM stuff!

Our good friends Phoenix FM have come up trumps again, and we're doing two exciting things with them in November.

November 1st sees us at Creative Studios, recording as part of the Phoenix FM Creative Sessions. We'll have an hour in the studio to record a few songs which will then be played out on the radio over the coming year. We're obviously very grateful for the opportunity, and of course also to Creative Studios for their time and effort involved in this project, which is now in its third year.

Later in the month, on Wednesday 19th November, we're making a return journey to the Phoenix FM studios, and again enjoying the company of Nick Field, on his Curveballs show. We'll be playing live again, chatting and popping some of our favourite records on the old gramaphone, or whatever it is these young 'uns do these days.

More details to follows, but that's it for now!

New EP now available

We've just finished the new EP, simply entitled 'EP3', and you can get one from us either when you next see us play (The Fleece in Chelmsford's our next gig, this saturday), or by dropping us a line here.

There are 4 tracks (Heaven Only Knows, Spacegirl, Such Is Life and, as a bonus track, Frederick Smythe performed live on Phoenix FM), and the EP is available for just £3.00 + 50p P&P. We'll get some snippets of the tracks uploaded here in due course.

Recording

We're currently recording three songs; two new ones (Spacegirl and Such Is Life), and a new version of Heaven Only Knows. As soon as we've got them finished, they'll be available as an EP at our gigs, so look out for that next time you see us play. Of course, there will be clips of them on here, and they'll be getting radio play too.

We'll let you know as soon as they're done!

Gigs in Chelmsford

We seem to be having a bit of a blitz on the venues in Chelmsford at the moment. We've just arranged a gig at The Barhouse on Tuesday 26th August, then on the friday (29th), we're at The Two Brewers, then the week after that, we're at The Fleece on Saturday 6th September.

The Radio Show last night...

Well, we had a great time on the Curveballs show on Phoenix FM last night, presented by Nick Field. We played 'Heaven Only Knows', 'Drowning' and 'Frederick Smythe' live, and two pre-recorded tracks - 'Mr Cox's Daughter' and 'Goodnight Tittletown'.

We also got to take in a song each from bands we like; Mike chose The Dukes of Stratosphear with 'My Love Explodes', Paul picked the Ride song 'Seagull', and I went for Queens of the Stone Age and 'You Can't Quit Me Baby'.

We chatted with Nick about how we came together as a band, some of our past exploits, and what we look for in a hotel room. We were joined in the Phoenix FM chatroom by some regulars to the show, as well as fans dropping by to say hello, and some friends from years back!

All in all we had a fantastic night in the studio, and we can't wait to get back and do it all again, although that won't be until much later in the year - we'll keep you posted.
